Startup founders often make the mistake of focusing too much on pedigree, while in tech what matters most is the tech depth and diversity of experience. You can hire a group of people from top schools or companies that can’t work with each other. My secret in building high performing teams is hiring people with very diverse cultural, technical and work background, where everyone has something to learn from each other, be it a new skill or a new perspective.
